Photos That Display Some Of My Work Throughout The Internship!
This poster was showcased during National Nurition Month. This was a group project which included myself and another intern. We had three presentations throughout the month of March that can be viewed under the scientific evidence base of practice tab. The presentations and health fair booth were available to the staff at North Central Baptist Hospital.
One of our presentations focused on ways to turn unhealthy recipes into healthy ones through simple substitutions . One recipe we discussed was black bean brownies; replacing the egg and butter with black beans. We allowed the staff to taste the brownies to see if they could tell the difference, and sure enough they could not!
This was a presentation on the recipe modifications titled "Cook Yourself Thin" presented by myself and Cecilia Fei.
This photo is of science night at Converse Elementary school. Intern Krista Bryla and I made a booth that showed how much sugar was in common foods and drinks children consumed. We displayed the amounts by using actual sugar packets. The kids and parents loved it. They were amazed at how much sugar was in certain products!
In this photo four of the interns including myself catered a event. We helped stock food, replenish items, and make sure everything went smoothly. We also got to meet many fellow dietitians throughout the day.
